"2.5D" is a term coined by cardstock modelers to identify models that are made up of two-dimensional parts, arranged to give the illusion of a three-dimensional object. They have the advantage of being simple to construct, while still being visually attractive.
Each kit includes the files to make as grand a fleet (or fleets) as you desire . . . just US$10.00 (ask for the kits by number - the catalogue is still in the works). For more details on how to order see this page.
Like the kit above, but this one has models with hull designs, rigging and ensigns appropriate for fighting the great naval battles of the War of the Austrian Succession, the Seven Years War, the War of American Independence and the Fourth Anglo-Dutch War.
The kit includes files for multiple sizes of ships covering the full range of types commonly used in the mid-17th century.
Ideal for age-of-sail gamers with limited space, or those who feel they don't have the patience for 3D models, these little gems give you the look of grand fleets of sailing ships for a minimum of effort and cost.
